“Almost 22.7 million Canadians above the age of fifteen have devoted approximately 3.4 billion hours of volunteering in 2018 (Statistics Canada, 2020).”
For this avid philanthropist, her passion for uniting Canadian youth through volunteerism inspired Jewel to Found Grateful Givers; a platform that teaches others how to give back to their communities with authenticity and gratitude.
Through trials and tribulations in Jewel’s life, volunteering has given her a space of safety and security; with one of her biggest support systems being her local community. Jewel wanted to provide youth with the same sense of belonging as she has experienced, which inspired her to Found Grateful Givers in July 2020.
Jewel believes that the best way to inspire action is through taking action yourself, through showing others that anything is possible. Taking action is all about respecting your own actions, while creating a sustainable lifestyle that inspires change through empowerment. With this in mind, Jewel aims to help youth and young adults become Grateful Givers through her online workshops and spontaneous free challenges
Fun Fact about Jewel, she has been camping since she was only 1 day old!
