Issue 2: Lily - Ms. Galaxy Calgary & Ms. Western Provinces North America 2021

With every passing year hundreds of Canadians are anxiously waiting for their fighting chance to receive an Organ Donation (Canadian Transplant Society, 2020); for this Licensed Practical Nurse and Pageant Queen, bringing awareness towards Organ Donation has become her life's mission.

As a Living Organ Donor and Nurse working with Pediatric Clients experiencing the impacts of Organ and Bone Marrow Transplants, Lily has seen firsthand what a positive impact Organ Donation makes.

In August 2019, Lily made the remarkable decision to donate one of her kidneys to her childhood friend; after receiving the news her friend needed a Kidney Transplant, this fantastic queen could not pass the opportunity to see if there were just the slightest chance, she could make a difference.

Surprised, Lily did not expect that her Kidney would be a PERFECT match for her childhood friend; as her friend was of a different gender, ethnic origin, and presumed that Organ Donation was only possible for blood relatives or individuals with similar ethnicities.

From the Pre-Screening Process all the way to her recovery, this heroic queen aims to inspire others through her story and strives to bring awareness as to the importance of becoming an Organ Donor.

Lily is a prime example that 'Not all hero's wear capes'! Interested in Organ Donation? Feel free to reach out to this queen to hear her amazing story of how one person can truly make a difference!
