Issue 28: Allison - Miss Galaxy Lions Head 2022

Motherhood is a wonderful and exciting adventure; however, it does come with the fair share of difficulties. With nearly 10-15% of new mothers experiencing Postpartum Depression, a mood/depression disorder in which impacts new mothers for the first few weeks to months of post-pregnancy; Allison aims to take her experience with Postpartum Depression and Anxiety to educate others on the importance of Mental Health and Addiction within and outside of the realm of motherhood.

Experiencing Postpartum Depression motivated this beauty queen to take her resiliency, to spread awareness towards Mental Health and Additions to a much larger scale. With very little awareness of the disorder in Canada, Allison aims to use her title as your 2022 Miss Galaxy Lions Head to empower women to share their experiences overcoming Mental Health and Addictions, especially while being a mother. As this topic is still underrepresented, Allison is dedicated to discussing her experiences with others to aid in their own personal journey’s. Specifically, helping other women discover ways in which they can also bring awareness to this particular cause.

Throughout Allison’s reign as Miss Galaxy Lions Head and continuing this effort as your next Miss Galaxy Canada, Alison is partnering with various pageant queens to collab on projects; to bring awareness to other queens and the world regarding Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, and Addictions during motherhood. Allison also aims to establish a supportive community of women to effectively support and empower each other throughout times of difficulty during motherhood.

This courageous woman is not only just a mother and beauty queen, but she is also a Hotel and Resort Operations Management Student; combining her love for pageantry and event planning to pursue a future career within this industry. She is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Peninsula Wicks & Co. A small business dedicated to providing high quality affordable products, while collaborating with various individuals to create a brand showcasing community partnership.
