Issue 36: Lily – Ms. Achievement Canada 2023

There are thousands of Canadians on the waitlist for an organ transplant; as a living organ donor and Nurse, Lily is a proud advocate for blood and organ donation and shares her experiences Internationally as she competes for the title of Ms. Achievement World. In August 2019, Lily donated one of her kidneys to a childhood friend. Lily inspires change by taking consistent action toward her causes; in particular, Lily is an active blood donor, having donated three times in the past few years. She believes in the power of empowering others through education to allow others the opportunity to make informed decisions. Due to the lack of awareness regarding being an organ or blood donor, Lily has dedicated her reign as Ms. Achievement Canada to educate on the process through social media. Having been raised in a difficult childhood, Lily is inspired to volunteer and give back to her community as she has firsthand experience of living in poverty with limited support available. Her experiences have inspired her to mentor vulnerable youth and become a foster parent for medically fragile children. She is also a Sustainer Member of the Junior League of Calgary and an Ambassador with Gems for Gems, which assists survivors of domestic violence. This year, Lily will be partaking in various events to bring awareness towards various causes; specifically, Lily is ecstatic to be involved in the 100 Kilometre Fundraising Walk to raise funds for the Kidney Foundation. In addition, she is passionate about helping her community overcome food insecurity through her involvement with ‘Love with Humanity.’ An organization which operates various 24-hour food banks in her area. Lily exhibits an exemplary lifestyle by practicing what she preaches, standing up for her values, consistently promoting her platform, and acting regularly. In her spare time, Lily enjoys acting, modelling, being a landlord, brand ambassador, and avid traveller. She also appreciates networking with change-makers around the world.
